About The Artist
Sandy Day, a
self-taught artist, began selling her works while living in
France in 1975. Since then, she has developed her
technique in four media: pen & ink, watercolor, oil,
and pastel. She first captured the local sites of
Compiegne, France in pen & ink. Her eye-hand ability
and use of perspective came very natural to her and proved to
be the foundation of her art.
Through the years, her work has appeared in
various shows in the Atlantic City and Philadelphia
areas. Notably, her art has been seen at the Deborah F.
Sager Memorial Fund Art Sale and Champagne Reception at
Caesar's Boardwalk Regency Hotel, one woman show at Ventnor
City Cultural Art Center, Manayunk art shows (Main Street,
Manayunk), Phillip's Mill juried art show (honorable mention),
26th Annual State Juried Art Show (1st place, “Through the
Daffodils” - oil on wood
(New Jersey), variouis Atlantic City
Boardwalk Art Shows, and several one-woman shows presented
throughout the Philadelphia area over the past twenty
years.
Sandy's work expresses her acute
appreciation of landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes.
She believes that the beautiful scenes around us need to be
captured in her art. In so doing, she hopes that her
optimistic world view might be transferred from her art to
those who view it.
